Almond Milk Steamer

Life hasn't been quite as planned lately. My husband's car was hit taking us down to one car. One car means less spontaneous trips to the grocery. Which means, unless I planned out what I wanted to make for you, it doesn't happen. All excuses aside, here's what's up today:

Being that I'm quite pregnant I gave up coffee cold turkey 7ish months ago. I miss hot drinks that fill the air and your mouth with pleasing scents and flavors. I've gone through several boxes of hot teas and needed a switch up- bad! So, I pulled out the almond milk I use for smoothies and tried out Joy the Baker's Simple Spiced Steamer. I realized I didn't have a vanilla bean pod laying around since they're, oh, ya know, like $50 per pod... Ok, not really but they're too expensive for this budget sensitive household and also out of ground cardamom. So, I pour milk into a mug, added cinnamon, nutmeg and a splash of vanilla extract, popped it into the microwave (heat it on the stove if you're microwave weary) for two minutes and viola! The perfect substitution... for today.

Also, I've been on a smoothie kick! This prego thing has caused quite the change up lately!
